Moong Dhal with broccoli, perfect for a homemade casserole, soup and stew.

Posted by Kulvinder Kaur on Mar 29, 2020 1:55:33 PM
My name is Kulvinder Kaur, I'm based in Bristol, a wife and a mother of 3 children. Cooking is a big part of our home. I always need to be one step ahead and at the same time keep everyone healthy. The dish I have arranged is one of many great Dhal dishes but this is one of my favourite options.

These ingredients are based on a family of 4 if you are 2 people in a household then half the ingredient is only needed.

  • 200g of Moong Dhal (green lentils)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 10g of ginger
  • 1 whole broccoli
  • 4 green good size chillis
  • 100g of chopped tin tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons of salt (not heaped)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground Turmeric, Haldi (not heaped)
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper (not heaped)

Wash Moong Dhal green lentils with warm water for 1 minute. Place Moong Dhal in a pot, fill the pot half way with water covering the Dhal by a couple of inches.

  1. Grind the 5 cloves of garlic and add to the Dhal
  2. Grind the ginger into and add to the Dhal
  3. Slice green chillis into small pieces and add to the Dhal
(If you have a grinder you can grind all 3 at the same time).

  • Add the 100g grams of tomatoes
  • Add the 2 teaspoons of salt, the 1 teaspoon of ground Turmeric and the 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Chop broccoli into small pieces and add to Dhal
  • Stir and leave to simmer for 2 hours. Check and stir on a regular basis
You can enjoy this dish with naan bread or rice, or even both!

Curb boredom: 6 fun things to do at home

Posted by Team Stevie on Mar 27, 2020 9:19:57 AM

There’s certainly no shame in being bored... let’s face it we’re all in this together. By the looks of it, we may be stuck together just a tad bit longer than a week. So whilst we are stuck inside together, let’s just make the best of it! That being said, we can all agree in saying we’re having moments when time just seems to drag on and on. The good news is that we have plenty of ways to make those moments of respite more productive and fun.

A message from our founder.

Posted by Stevie Ross on Mar 25, 2020 9:17:38 AM

I feel like we're in a different time zone, once commuting to work as normal to all of a sudden seeing people look like the world is about to end. Covid-19 sounds more like a movie title, masked up and covered from head to toe, people scared to get close to one another or even do a common handshake, to now not leaving your front door. Times have changed with a blink of an eye.

We are a central London based tech startup called Enjoy Stevie , getting people into restaurants is our thing, our motto is ''Don't Order In Tonight, Eat Out With Stevie''.

From having a buzzing few months and undoubtedly working harder than ever before, our company has come to a standstill. Being in Tech our cost per day is high and currently being a small revenue based company is even harder. From our London office closed to all of our restaurant partners shut down, the world has frozen.

As I say ''When the shit hits the fan, come up with something great and turn a negative into a positive''.  At Stevie, we are always driving forward to be the best we can be, we run our company on kindness, creativity, originality and passion, to one day be leader in the restaurant discounts market. We are always one step ahead, we've got back to the lab and we're rustling something up for every single UK restaurant for when the world reopens.

For now, it's order in tonight, but we'll be back.

Founder,
Stevie Ross

Eating out the right way: A popular Shoreditch restaurant to boost your immune system!

Swapping beef for greeny leaves isn’t entirely bad - forget the bad perception. Take your eating out experience to higher heights and improve your immune system along the way. More times than most, a healthy lunch must-have should usually include plant-based sources, fish, spinach (not just for Popeye’s), healthy fats and lots of fibre!

Business dining 101: Etiquette dining around the world.

Posted by Team Stevie on Mar 17, 2020 11:38:00 AM

From not saying “thank you” in India, to arriving up to an hour late in Brazil, every country has its own customs when it comes to business dinners. When you go abroad for these important meetings, our normal traditions can be surprisingly insulting, or just out of place in different cultures. Avoiding these potential awkward moments is important for not offending potential business partners. Here are the do’s and don’ts of business dining etiquette in different countries around the world.
