The Epidemic has taken a toll on all of us, some have experienced the lockdown much worse than others and it's important to remember to be kind and stand together, take care of one another in this difficult time. Here are a couple of things that...1. The Healthcare NHS
Healthcare professionals that go to work every day risking their lives to save ours which of course makes them the biggest heroes on our planet! We are forever grateful and appreciate them.
You can also help the NHS by volunteering in your local area. Read more about this here: https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/about-the-nhs/get-involved-in-the-nhs/
2. Our Friends & Family
It is important to have contact with the people who are closest to you to maintain mental wellbeing. Some of us are in quarantine with our family or our friends while others are in isolation by themselves. If you know someone who is isolating alone check up on them regularly to check if they are doing okay. They may need to hear your voice.
NHS has made a list of several mental health helplines that you can call if you need to speak with someone, here is the link: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stress-anxiety-depression/mental-health-helplines/
3. Having A Roof Over Our Heads & Food On Our Plates
In the UK it's estimated to be around 320.000 homeless people according to the research by Shelter. For the homeless, it's not easy surviving on the streets especially now due to COVID 19. Some of us may not have the biggest or most beautiful homes but we still have to be thankful for what we have.
How would lockdown be without our highly beloved mobile phones and computers? We would most definitely survive but it would be mind-destroying and not forgetting we wouldn't be able to work from home or even order stuff we don't actually need from Amazon lol. TikTok has even become everyone's best friend!
5. Our Planet
The lockdown has definitely been good for our environment, cars, planes and train usage has lowered significantly. A great time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air, maybe do something different, contribute to taking care of our beautiful planet. Our gardens have now become our favourite place to be, give it some love to appreciate it more.
